QRClip Update v1.9
2025-04-06

At QRClip, we’re dedicated to making secure, private file sharing as straightforward and user-friendly as possible. Our latest round of updates pushes this mission forward, giving you more transparency, flexibility, and convenience.
What’s New?
No More Subscriptions:
We’ve eliminated subscriptions entirely to ensure you pay only for the resources you actually use. No forced recurring fees—just straightforward, pay-as-you-go sharing.
Dollar-Based Balances:
We’ve transitioned from a credit system to a simple dollar balance. This makes it easier to understand your exact costs at a glance, removing any guesswork or conversions.
Optional Email Visibility for Better Notifications:
Want timely alerts about low balances or file downloads? You can now opt to keep your email address unhashed. This is fully optional and ensures you maintain control over your privacy preferences.
Easily Share Your Balance with Others:
Collaboration just got simpler. You can now share your dollar balance with other users—colleagues, friends, or team members—making team workflows smoother and more efficient.
Why These Changes Matter
Our goal is to continuously improve QRClip in ways that reflect our core values: transparency, fairness, and user autonomy. Removing subscriptions ensures you’re never locked into unwanted fees. Switching to a dollar-based balance makes it simpler to understand what you’re spending. Giving you the option to show your email helps you stay informed on your terms. And balance sharing opens the door to more flexible, collaborative use cases.
As always, your feedback guides our decisions. We’re excited about these changes and look forward to hearing how they enhance your QRClip experience. Thank you for choosing QRClip—together, we’re making file sharing safer, clearer, and more empowering.
Credit to Dollar Conversion
We’re making the shift from credits to a straightforward dollar-based system, and we want to ensure that any credits you’ve earned translate fairly into your new balance. Originally, $5 would grant 50 credits, but certain promotions (such as our AppSumo deal) provided 100 credits for the same $5.
Directly converting 100 credits to $100 would be unfair and unsustainable. A more direct conversion would be $0.10 per credit—so 100 credits would equal $10. Instead, we’ve chosen a balanced conversion rate of $0.125 per credit. This means those 100 credits now translate into $12.50, giving you even more value than before. It’s our way of ensuring a fair and rewarding transition into the new dollar-based system.
